Local Eats
Just a five minute walk from Casita Colina, in the Las Palmas neighborhood, there are an abundance of local restaurants and coffee shops featuring high-quality, fresh food at reasonable prices. Café de Playa is a short walk down the beach and an excellent spot for an evening cocktail or glass of wine to enjoy another spectacular sunset.
Traditional Costa Rican cuisine consists of rice, beans, and meat and they are very adamant about using only fresh and local ingredients which is easy to do since vegetables and fruits are readily available and incredibly tasty! Some of the traditional plates are gallo pinto (rice and beans), casado (variation of rice, beans, meat, plantains, and salad), and arroz con pollo (rice with chicken).
